Default So how many people knew that there is an updated turn signal/ hazard relay?

I don't think that this has been posted before.

If it has sorry for the repost.

So long story short I was helping my friend out yesterday installing a new turn signal relay and I noticed that the lettering below the part number was different.

Hmm lets crack this baby open and see what is inside...

NICE it has Omron relays inside in place of the old style coil relays.
For those who are not familiar with Omron they are the worlds #1 producer of relays.

Here is the old relay and markings. Notice the WBS+AK

Default I did not notice that...

I replaced a hazard relay for a buddy of mine last week. He had acquired the enw part, and I just did the install.

FYI - It was the very 1st time I was able to get the wood hazard surround of without breaking at least one clip!!!

Thanks for the info!

Yea we made out good no broken clips. One loose one that we super glued to make it tight.

Default LOL! Yeah, I kept making the disclaimer, "I WILL break at least one clip..."

but then I removed it with him watching, and no broken clips. I guess with enough practice...anything is possible!

Default Great to know! It must be in the air! My relay started acting up yesterday...

turn blinker on... it pretends to shut off and carries on with rapid blinking sound for short to long periods of time. This is driving me nuts...OK lets take it apart and see if it can be fixed? Nope, The coil must go bad. At least I know now to get the newer relay. Thank You!

Dealer item? Or can this relay be obtained else-where? Expected cost?

Default LMAO, That's funny I told him that I would do my best not to break or damage anything.

He has an 01 so the trim piece isn't the wood veneer but I still wanted to be careful.

Default is this a warranty item?

I'm at 45K right now, but have noticed that the turn signals when activated, have been blinking randomly, then normal, then random again. it's due for a service, so it would be great to get it replaced at that time....
