Rear light bulb out indicator will not turn off
I recently replaced the light bulb over the license plate on my 2006 A6. The bulb was brand new and it is working, however the screen in between the tac and speedometer still shows a warning light. I looked in the fuse box but was not sure which one controlled that. Any suggestions would be great as the beeping is annoying when you turn the car on.
Thanks

I'd recommend removing bulb & spraying socket & bulb contacts with Electrical Contact cleaner before delving deeper. I've had similar problems with 2 of the three C6's Ive had.YMMV

Spraying contact cleaner in that area is going to make a mess. I'd recommend brush on Deoxit (link below). Another question would be if you are using the correct bulb. The wrong bulb will still trigger the error.

i tried the contact cleaner. didn't work. both bulbs light up so I don't think it is the wrong one. it wasn't a special german audi bulb so maybe that's the problem. my other idea is a fuse problem

Check this thread. It's most likely corrosion on one of your tail lights. If I remember correctly you won't get the warning light on dash for minor bulbs like licence plate and position lights. Only brake, tail light and headlights.

yea mine was for the reversing light. It was on for a bit then went off and never came back. I also changed my third brake light around the same time that it went away. They aren't connected but I was getting lights from both of them.
