Hello new to the form have a quick question Is the ROSS - TECK the only VAG - COM That can be used to do update mods. Or are there other companies.

There are some knock off eBay ones, but the Ross Tech one is the best by far. Can also check out Carista (Carista app) as it sounds like people are having some luck with that one. Good luck!

If you want to do in depth code changes, the Ross-Tech VCDS Vag-Com cable and software are the standard. If you just want simple access to a select, limited list of common mods, the Carista app and their bluetooth OBD2 dongle are much less expensive and easier to use

I have had my Ross Tech through 4 Audi's and two VW's. For each car except for my 6 month old VW I have saved more than the cost of the VAG-COM on each car because of the ability to read and reset fault codes. Just two weeks ago I saved what probably would have been a $300 repair on my 2008 because I was able to determine that I had a clogged snow screen. The fix was trivial. If you have an Audi or VW and you do any work on your own car the cost of this tool is worth every penny and the knock off's are not worth a penny. The Ross Tech VAG-COM was the best tool investment I ever made.

+1 on the Rosstech...you have yourself a lot of hassle and it just works...it pays for itself in no time vs. paying to get scans and such
