Default Recalls

So there have been 2 recalls in the last couple of months for certain MY 2012-2016 3.0L TFSI Engine Vehicles:

1. Emissions Recall 24CO - ECM Software September 2016
2. Safety Recall 24BZ- Fuel Hose and Fuel Pump November 2016

In the first recall, the dealer installed an updated ECM software. Even though, my car is tuned I did not have any problem getting this software update. Now in this latest recall they will replace the in-tank fuel pump and an under hood fuel hose.

I am really surprised to see 2 recalls back to back. Anyone else have their VINS flagged for these recalls?

Yes had the first one done already, and waiting to take it in for the fuel pump one.

Have you checked to see if you still have the tune? You might have the new OEM engine tune written over it.

I have not. I couldn't flash it back to stock, before going in for service because of stage 2 tune with the upgraded pulley. The car was in service to replace a bad wheel bearing and when I picked the car up, the SA told me they took care of the emission recall.

I was surprised they performed the ECM update since on the letter they said they wouldn't do it if they detected a tune. I should have my tuner shop check it out.

Just had the fuel pump recall done. no issues with it. Main reason for recall was for the actual rubber fuel pump seal cracking due to colder weather and region climates and people were smelling fuel inside the vehicle based on their location is the reason for the recall. I live in Houston so it was 80 degrees yesterday and they knocked it out in a day because it was already there.

Was told not to do the ECM recall by my dealer if your tuned so I left it alone.

For TDI owners - like myself. Emission Fraud recall - which may be a fix or a buyback. I hope it does not depreciate my vehicle - as Audi may not have TDI models in USA anymore....

yes, Volkswagen is to Recall 83,000 3.0 Liter Diesel model which includes Audi A7. This has been approved by US court system and waiting on final approval - most likely in Feb. This should be similar recall in Canada, as well; since the emission laws are similar. They will be buyback of these models or a fix with compensation.
