A huge DITTO to that!
Why would you turn the engine backwards?
What tutorial did you use? ...Certainly not Bentley (recommended)(?)
A warning you'll find repeated in Bentley, especially in the timing belt procedure >>

The way that can happen is if the valve tags the piston in the ring land area. It bends the outer edge of the piston down and the top compression ring is now stuck in it's groove. Trying to run or start the engine with a stuck ring results in scoring of the cylinder wall. I have seen it happen.

Well I think I have the same issue. Except I did the belt myself used the tool to lock in timing. Rotated it 2 times to be sure no clearance issues. After I started it sounded fine for 5 min then some noises I never hear started. A moaning sound like one of the pulleys was bad. Then I hear a loud click and the engine stops. I rotated the engine backwards and see the timing is dead on. Opened the valve cover on the driver side and the chain has lots of slack. I guess pulling the head is next?

Turns out it was a failed tensioner and pad
