Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail!

2 Faults Found
18315 - Engine Databus
P1907 - 002 - ECU<->ECU Communications Fault

17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235)
P1453 - 000 - Open or Short to Plus

As I said, no experience with Diesel engines, but it looks like it has 2 ECU's and one is either faulty or connection to it is faulty. First check the connection, clean contacts with some electronics cleaner and scan again to see if this code is still present. If it is replace ECU.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 07: Control Head Labels: 4E0-910-7xx-07.lbl

2 Faults Found
02084 - Component Protection
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

00003 - Control Module
005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

It looks like this module was replaced with used one and Component Protection was not removed. This should be done by a dealer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 19: CAN Gateway Labels: 4E0-910-468.lbl

1 Fault Found
01342 - Engine Control Module 2 (Slave 1)
004 - No Signal/Communication

Same as first. Either connection or faulty ECU.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 34: Level Control Labels: 4E0-910-553.lbl

1 Fault Found
00776 - Level Control System Sensor; Left Front (G78)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit

Front left level sensor doesn't have proper connection. It is just in front of your front left wheel connected with tiny link to the front lower arm.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 46: Central Conv. Labels: 4E0-910-289.lbl

1 Fault Found
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
004 - No Signal/Communication

Alarm horn is just below windshield on the far right side (US models, not sure about UK). Check and clean connection or replace horn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 53: Parking Brake Labels: 4E0-910-801.clb

1 Fault Found
02596 - Rear Brake Pads Worn
008 - Implausible Signal

Check the rear brake pads. This means they should be replaced.

I think you need to investigate the can bus between the two engine ecu's and also the Gearbox has no communication either.

If you don't already have wiring diagrams I would recommend getting them, either bentley manual, elsawin or erwin

Some usefull info in the following SSP 287

Once you have fixed the ecu comms issues then start to look into the gas temp sensor fault.

Take the car to a dealer or other qualified shop and get it repaired properly. Then when things break one at a time, you can easily fix them.

You will have to go to a dealer to have the Component Protection issue taken care of anyway.

Audi put some real thought into this car, like headlight washers that operate sequentially, so the side that's not being washed allows for better visibility.

Like I said in my previous post, you can buy the bently manual etc but there is no specific wiring info in it for your engine, I checked.

Your best bet would be Erwin

You can register and buy different time periods of access

Indeed, quite sophisticated considering it came to market in around 2003, the headlight washing was brought up in another post in the last few days, I didn't remember at the time it was mentioned in this SSP

If you have a look through this there are quite a few more
