255/40R20 on a D4?
Hello,
I recently bought a 2012 A8L and it has new Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tires on the 20" wheels. The road noise inside the car is terrible. I would like to switch to a tire that is as quiet as possible. I don't need all season tires, just summer and rain. I drive my truck in the snow.
I looked at ratings on Tire Rack and saw the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are highly rated and have a good rating for road noise. Problem is Michelin doesn't offer the Super Sport in 265/40R20. They offer it in 255/40R20. I would give up .4" in width. I'm concerned about exposing the edge of my wheels to curb rash.
Does anyone have experience with the 255/40R20s on their cars?
What are the quietest tires available for our cars with the 20" wheels?
Thank you,
Steve

may get Michelin A/S 3 275 35 20 for D4 L / Pirellis are ok but Michelins are the best for ride and sport/spirited driving / they last and last / last two sets of PSport went 45k miles
