I also found a 0w 40 for the same price that is made in Germany, Castrol edge, 502 a3/b4 rating, should probably use that instead huh?

15w50 engine oils is not needed really.
The Delo is almost a 50w when tested and is robust enough for our 12v V6 engines..plenty of additives and detergents too.
Delo viscosity @ 100ēC, cSt is 15.9..a 50w oil would be 16.3, very close.
Over the road trucks go millions of miles with 15w40 HDEO style oils like Delo..good stuff.

The 15w 40 and 15w 50 are both a3/b3, the b4 is for diesel engines...so with the low friction piston rings the higher winter oil will be fine for starting in the winter?? FYI I live in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Castrol is fine oil. I would use it and see if you have any consumption issues..if not it will be fine.
I have three Audi's with the 12v v6 engines and when I bought them I changed the oil and used Delo for the first couple of oil changes. Two of the cars I still use Delo 15w40..my 1998 Cabriolet (purchased a few years ago with 78k miles) switched over to Pennzoil Euro 5w40 after the runs with Delo, just for fun.
The climate here is milder than yours..and when it gets cold up there..use a 5w40 or the Castrol 0w40..which you can use year round too.
I like to use the Delo as a run in oil to see what the oil consumption is like first and for the cleaning properties. If acceptable..then I can switch to another oil and compare, if I want. The Audi V6 engines seem to like the 15w40.

Thanks, I will return the 15w 50 and get the 0w 40. Ill try the 15w40 during the summer, winter is coming, we don't dip too low here because the ocean is close.

I think I need to redo some gaskets , did an oil change a couple days ago and this is what I was looking at from under the passengers side. I put the 15w-50 in because I had already bought it, figured I would change it if it gets too cold. Probably need a whole upper gasket set?
Order from here? or is Blauparts better?

It is a little strange that there is an oil leak on the coolant hose..could it be antifreeze?
The accumulation of old oil on the right side above the oil pan could be the "O" ring at the base of the dip-stick tube..they will leak from time to time. I do not think it is the upper oil pan leaking..could be wrong.
