For the price of a burger (a cheep burger, no fries) you can have daylight running lights on your allroad. From a old thread i gave it a go. Very easy, one wrench easy. Just jumper pin 1 and 8 together on the headlight wire plug, 1-9 pins are on the bottom row in the plug, i used a fuse holder with a 15A fuse and 2 in line power taps. now the fog lights come on when the ignition is on, lights work normally high beams turn the fog lights off.
Quick mod to update the look and be a bit safer. and if you want to reverse it, just pull the fuse out and you back to normal.

Personally, I think DRL's are a stupid idea.
It's broad daylight. Oh, oh, I can't see the oncoming car because he doesn't have his lights on; maybe I better cross over the center-line and hit him head-on.
I turn them off on all of my cars which have them.
I'm not going to add them to my cars that don't have them.

thats great Mike, NP but studies show having lights on is safer. Just like high mounted stop lights, airbags, seat belts, impact bumpers,anti lock brakes, etc. it works without intervention and yes in daylight, they might not be needed but rain/wind/fog/sand/dust it just might be the difference between life and death. All for 4 bucks.
