Default Rain-X washer fluid...

is it any better than the conventional blue or purple stuff? Will it mix with the other types?

I've used it. Works good.

Many years ago on TV I watched the World Rally Championship mechanics fill up with Rain-X and I thought if it is good enough to handle those conditions then NJ weather would be a walk in the park. I have used it ever since with no complaints.

RainX washer fluid ruined my washer fluid level sensor. I now stick with the cheap blue stuff and manually apply the rainX directly to the glass.

Yeah, for VW and Audi vehicles, RAINX is known to foul-up the washer fluid level sensor. To get it working again, you need to clean the electrodes on the sensor or change the sensor out. For my VW, I just use the regular blue stuff. It smells good too!
