is the back story. Car has been hard starting as of late. Took it into the dealer and they wanted to do a 'tune up' to the tune of 1000 dollars including the dreaded "fuel injection service". Did plugs and new air filter myself this weekend and cleared the codes. Car seems to run strong but had a CEL show up today while T had her on the highway. No hard starts since the new plugs and filter on Saturday. Pulled the following codes tonight.

7119 P0304 Misfire detected cylinder 4 intermittent and not confirmed. Tested Memory clear
7117 P0303 Misfire detected cylinder 3 intermittent and not confirmed. Tested Memory clear
6125 Fuel air mixture Cylinder 3 P219E Unbalanced. Intermittent Tested Since Memory Clear
6124 Fuel Air Mixture Cylinder 2 P219D Unbalanced Intermittent CONFIRMED Tested Since Memory Clear.

Cleared them and added another can of BG44 injector cleaner. Ready for the experts thoughts!!

With those codes, I think most mechanics would start with a basic tune up to eliminate maintenance and wear items. From my experience, the spark plugs should be changed twice as frequently as recommended due to both wear and misfires. Not so sure about a $1000 tune up though! You could always try a fresh set of plugs. If a plug misfires, a rich fuel mixture will result, and could account for the codes.
