Chased by an Evoque...
The wife and I took the SQ5 on a little jaunt along Colorado SR67 from Woodland Park to Castle Rock on Tuesday. We didn't realize SR67 spent much of its time winding along a trout stream for about 20 miles, nor that the road was unpaved for a 4 mile stretch as it made it over the top of the front range near Castle Rock.
Nevertheless, a beautiful drive -- and made more interesting by the Evoque which was following coming out of the mountains. I wasn't driving aggressively on the way down (and stayed on the brakes during downhill straights to stay within 10 mph of the speed limit (and let the Evoque catch up)).
But it was fun watching him behind me, cutting across lanes and hearing his squealing tires as he tried to keep up...
Some pics from the drive. I love how the lava gray can look almost black in some light...

Let me tell you. The evoque is a great handling car, (if that is the dynamic package with Adaptive magnetic suspension) , and once you get some summer tires on it. watch out in the handling dept. I believe it can out handle SQ5 , It basically has zero body roll.
I had 2013 and traded in for 2015. . I like the 13' better with 6 speed over the 9 speed.
But power wise. not even close.

Especially as I paid same price for the 2013 Evoque as I just paid for my SQ5 ... I have a much more capable automobile now.
BTW - The Evoque is still sitting on the lot at the Audi dealer (been there for two months and the price keeps dropping).

No denying, the Evoque is a lovely car but it is definately a case of "all show, little go"...unless we are talking about the 280bhp Autobiography version...

Wow!! Small world. You found our picnic spot. We always like to pull off at that spot and have a pinic. Great little area. Flat spot right by the creek.

Most definitely a small world! Beautiful trout stream that seems to run on forever. Was also surprised at the size of the Hayman burn scar...

I was here during all three fires including the Hayman. Waldo was the scariest. But with they Hayman it rained ash like snow. I took my jeep through the Hayman right after it opened back to the public. Looked like a nuke went off. Hope to see you around town. I am the only red SQ5 around.
