SQ5 break in period

If you're prudent enough to ask that question, you won't hurt it anyway... I was very easy for 1000 mis., a few 3/4 pedals after that, and never really screamed it till a few weeks ago at 7500 mis. It's worth the wait.... It feels as fast as my '05 GTO to 100 mph... with a lot less drama
My next car will have to be a Miata or Fiat Abarth...... So I'm only doing 50 after running through a couple gears.. My only mod for the SQ will be a stealthy radar detector.

I hear with what you are saying about it being touch to floor an expensive car. On the reverse my A4 was babied, waxed and babied again for the breakin in period. Always drove at varied rpms but slowly. Not sure what else I could have done. When it started to burn oil dealer insisted it is because of the bad gas but I always used top tier Shell Vpower.
I was very hesitant with the first Q5 and now my brand new TDI. But worried that I would go through the oil burning thing again. My 2012 still burns very little oil and I am satisfied I wont have that problem.
I think one of the reasons Audi tells you to take it easy is that supposedly real damage Could occur if the car is not warmed up. To each his own I guess and not totally convinced that the high revs totally prevented oil burning - maybe Audi changed something in their piston mfg.??

Talking about warming your engine, it seems there are a couple of "usual" ways to do so:
a. Turn on your car and just wait for a few minutes until its warm.
b. Turn on your car and get going right away driving on low rpm´s
What do you guys usually do?

I wait 1 minute before driving, sometimes I just start it with the remote control the time I get to the car and thats it.
we are in 2014, cars are made to be driving at the time you start it.

CarTalk (formerly Click & Clack but Click died recently) had a newspaper column where the dealer blamed "bad gas" on a CEL problem. It seems to be their favorite little trick to avoid responsibility and actually diagnose the issue.

My theory is to drive normal but be a bit mindful the first 1000 miles - meaning no crazy acceleration, not be a speed demon, don't tow your boat - in other words, just drive like normal but not overload the engine. So far on my SQ5 it's been working great (so did it on my S4 before this).
Good luck and have fun!
