Hi,

I bought a used 2017 Audi Q3 couple of months back. I am noticing that it's giving me only 15mpg. I filled up the tank with SHELL V-POWER NITRO+. I drove around 232 miles out of which about 40 miles is highway. Next time time, I filled up the tank with 15.5 gallons. So the the mileage is approx 15 mpg.
I thought this is low compared to the publishes mpg of 20-28 mpg. Any comments/ ideas welcome?

Definitely seems low unless you drive with the pedal to the floor all of the time.

40 miles on highway and 190 miles not on highway. How are those other miles? Stop and go? Short trips?

I typically get around 28 MPG on long highway trips like Los Angeles to San Francisco. My long-term average right now is around 24.5 MPG and our Q3 has about 8k miles on the odometer. I will see around 18-20 MPG in local short trips if I get lucky and hit mostly green lights, and closer to 15-17 MPG if I get unlucky and hit a lot of red lights or traffic jams on those same trips.

I've had entire tanks where I made only short, local trips and the average for that tank was around 16 MPG. The highest I ever calculated for a tank was about 32 MPG, but that was cheating... starting with a full tank at around 7500 feet elevation and ending at sea-level 300 miles away!
