Headlight Washers in my car?
Does my 2014 Premium Plus Q7 with Xenon lights have a headlight washers? The car is only 2 months old but I had some damage to the front bumper done which required the body shop to remove the front bumper and repaint.
I have the cutouts on the front bumper for the washers but the body shop doesn't think I have it in the car. I thought if you have Xenon headlights it comes with the washer system.
I checked my manual and it saids "if your car comes equipped with this" and I checked the window sticker and its not listed...

On the European market, cars with xenon headlights must have headlight washers by law so I doubt they would economise and remove them if they are not required by law in the US so it probably does have them.
Just try putting the headlights on and operating the windscreen washers, it should spay the lights for a second or so on the first operation of the windscreen washers.

if the body shop you are using cannot tell if you have headlight washers with a bumper removed from the car then i would have huge reservations about their ability to do any sort of work on the car. as soon as you remove the bumper there is plumbing for the washers, they would need to be disconnected from the old one, fluid would pour out and then you hook it up to the new one.

In the American market the headlight washers seem to have only come with the S-line package (and the V8s in the early production years 2007-2009). None of my Q7s have had headlight washers (somewhat disappointing for me).

It's funny what a car manufacturer will economise on.
When they list all the features which are standard, many are there to satisfy legislation, not because they see it as an important addition to the vehicle.
It make one wonder what else would go with the laws they have to comply with!
