B5 Oil Leak - Valley Pan Gasket?
Been reading this forum for awhile. The info I've picked up has kept my '02 B5 S4 on the road since I purchased it.
First the vital info:
2002 B5 S4
210K Miles
Stock from bumper to bumper.
So as with all S4's oil leaks are common. Mine is no exception. While doing the drivers side CV, I noticed a leak and have traced it back to (what I think) is the valley pan. The other possibility is to an oil line that is under the coolant line on the drivers side of valley....see attached photo's. Did my best to circle area I believe leak to be coming from. Oil only seems to be on drivers side (right as you look at photos). Leaks down the bell housing on transmission....on to my garage floor.
Before anyone asks, I've inspected the valve cover gaskets, cam plugs and have seen no evidence of leaks either on the front or back of the valve covers on either side of the engine.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks!
P.S. Anyone know the best way to vacuum sand out of the intake valves? Got a bit sloppy when I removed the intake.
