How did you know when your car was loaded on a ship? My dealer can't seem to get this info? If I knew that I could figure out a ship. Only thing I know was that on 10/21 it was on it's way to Emdem.....which I assume is no more than a day's travel.

ok yea this could be it. i did put rainX on. bummer... i love having rain bead up and roll right off. the only reason i was using the windshield wipers wasnt for rain but rather the spray on the wet highway from cars in front of me.
i guess ill try to take it off or at least not replace it as it wears off over the months.

Mine was built on Oct 8th but not loaded shipboard until the 15th. There's more logistics than just the drive distance from Gyor to Emden.

I did, however, clean my windshield with a clay bar and the skipping has now gone away. I could easily feel the roughness of the windshield coating until I clayed it. I still have automatic windshield wiper action, but maybe it is not as sensitive. I remember seeing a recent VW ad in which they drop water onto the windshield from an eye-dropper and it activated the wiper. That implies that a windshield coating was somehow reacting to the moisture. In my previous TT, rain detection came from the sensor connected to the rear-view mirror arm.

OOOO steel wool on the windshield if all else fails. But it has to be the finest "quad-ought."
