Possible to change default of ESP to "off" ('03-1.8T) ?

An alternative might be...
If you are looking to have ESP off with the alert light off -- just after starting your car, try holding your ESP button in for about 20 seconds or so. The ESP light will come on then go off. It will remain off, and ESP disabled until you stop and restart your engine.
