ABT Sportsline Introduces 740 HP RS Q8-R SUV

For its 125th anniversary, ABT Sportsline has introduced an exciting RS Q8-R SUV, which can accelerate from 0 to 62 MPH in just 3.4 seconds.

ABT Sportsline has produced many exciting reproductions of Audi nameplates over the years. For its 125th anniversary, the Kempten, Germany-based tuning company has introduced an exciting RS Q8-R SUV. The tuner’s new model can accelerate to 62 MPH from a complete standstill in less than 3.4 seconds. Prices for ABT Sportsline‘s latest offering start at around $80046 (€68000).

The impressive performance comes from a retuned powerplant which now produces 740 HP of power and around 679 lb-ft of peak torque. In its stock tune, RS Q8’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 motor churns out 591 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque and takes 3.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH.

The company’s CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt shared his thoughts on the anniversary edition RS Q8-R, “We have really pulled out all the stops on this anniversary vehicle.”

The company re-tuned the motor by installing a “high-tech ABT Engine Control” unit and a bespoke performance intercooler. Customers can also have ABT Sportline increase the top speed of the RS Q8-R up to 195 mph ( 315 km/h approximately), which is an optional service offered by the tuner. The updated engine now comes mated to an ABT exhaust system.

The new exhaust is a four-tip system and adds more baritones to the engine note. Each exhaust tip is 102 mm in diameter, and the entire system is made out of stainless steel. The company has also confirmed that it will only manufacture 125 examples of the RS Q8-R SUVs as part of an ultra-limited production run to celebrate ABT Sportline’s 125th anniversary.

Each model will get multiple engravings, badges, plaques, and logos denoting that every vehicle is 1 of only 125 units that will ever be produced. In addition to the performance upgrades, ABT Sportline has also tweaked the design of Audi’s high-rider. The SUV rides on 23-inch High Performance GR alloys which are wrapped in 295/35 tires.

The car seen in the pictures belongs to an ABT client who requested the San Marino Blue metallic paint job. ABT Sportsline also installs an aero package on the RS Q8-R, which consists of front skirt add-ons, mirror caps, wheelhouse ventilation, rear spoiler, rear skirt add-on, fender extensions, side skirts, and front lip with add-on. All components are made using carbon fiber and bestow the SUV with styling that highlights its sportiness.
