Audi Announces Pricing for Three New Electrified Offerings

Audi’s electrification strategy is charging ahead and the Ingolstadt-based car manufacturer has announced prices of three new plug-in hybrid models

Audi has opened pre-sales of its A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e2 in Germany. The company also revealed that it will start accepting orders for the all-new Q3 45 TFSI e and the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI models starting from the second week of January.

With the growing popularity of the crossover segment and the high demand for electrified models, Audi’s Q3 hybrids will appeal to a large consumer base. Q3 45 TFSI e and the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI are milestone models for Audi’s Q range and complete the hybrid range which the German automaker first introduced back in 2019.

The plug-in hybrid drivetrain of the A3 Sportback features a 1.4-liter internal combustion motor which produces 150 PS of power and 184.4 lb-ft of peak torque. The 1.4-liter motor is coupled to a synchronous electric motor which puts out 108 PS of power and 243.3 lb-ft of torque which results in a combined system output of 245 PS and 295 lb-ft. The A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e2 can accelerate to 62mph from a complete standstill in just 6.8 seconds which puts it in the hot-hatch territory.

The Q3 45 TFSI e and the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e models are also powered by 245 PS hybrid drivetrains. In the Q3 hybrid, however, Audi offers an 85 KW synchronous motor which works in tandem with a four-cylinder 1.4-liter TFSI motor that allows the hybrid crossover to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than 7.3 seconds.

All three hybrid models run a front-wheel-drive setup and come equipped with Audi’s six-speed S Tronic transmission. Based on current exchange rates, prices for the A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e start at around $ 49302 or €40,395. Prices for the entry-level variant of Q3 45 TFSI e and the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI start at $56,143 (€46,000) and $57,364 (€47,400), respectively. So far, it remains unclear whether Audi plans on introducing these models stateside.
