I just recently changed my timing belt in my 04 A4 at 112,000 miles. When I took the old one out it was in great shape. It probably would of lasted another 50,000 miles easy but you dont want to risk it. If your timing belt snaps while driving your engine is going to see some serious damage and so is your wallet. Its recommended to change a timing belt at 100,000 miles. its also a good time to replace the water pump, serpentine belt, belt tensioner, and thermostat. At an Audi dealer I spent $520 for all of these parts (you can find cheaper online but for parts that make your engine run I would get genuine Audi parts) I did the work myself. You can find forums on how to do it online but if you dont know too much about working on cars you might want to ask a friend. Its a lot cheaper than spending an extra $700 for labor.

If it hasn't been changed your walking on thin ice. Even though you are under the 100k mark your car is still 10+ years old - parts deteriorate after time as well.

I would change it sooner than later, we have complete kits with your basic components to save you some cash.

Default Timing Belt

My belt came apart at just under 90,000. All the teeth stripped off the belt. I was driving down the interstate with the cruise on about 75 mph. Car just cut off. Took timing cover off to find the belt still on but all the teeth shredded and all over the timimg cover area. Change as soon as you can !!!!!!!!

It could have been changed who knows, i do plenty of them with car between 80-90k miles. I see plenty broken with less than 90k on them, a few with as low at 70k. Late 90's early 2000 cars tho.

Change the timing belt, water pump and the related tensioners and damper now before it breaks. Yes the timing belt might last a little longer but the results of a failure can be very severe if a valve head breaks off its stem.
My friend's shop has the very large number of destroyed engines from timing belt or chain problems.
