$90 for a plastic hose???
so i was replacing my o2 sensors a couple days ago (finally!!!), and i found a cracked hose under the hood...i'm pretty sure it's a breather hose because it goes from the top corner of the crankcase up to the intake (on the back of the engine)...it looks like plastic wire conduit if that helps..anyway i called my local dealership to check pricing on a replacement and he quoted me $90!!!! so when i heard that i busted out my electrical tape and went at it...it looks and feels stronger than before and i'm pretty sure it'll hold up just fine..is this hose that important that i should replace it?
EDIT: this hose is about 3/4" diameter and about 6-8 inches long

STFA for "breather hose mod" or similar wording. There are a ton of write-ups..
on modding the breathers. I did this to my ends and used 3/8" fuel hose. Electrical tape won't cut it. This fix cost me under $20.00 total.

Yup, I did this exact same thing.
I broke my crankcase breather hose replacing my camshaft position sensor.
I wouldn't count on electrical tape to hold for long. This hose is in a high temperature environment. You should have no problem following this writeup.
