how do i increase the idle on my 95 a6 quattro?

IIRC, idle speed is governed by the ECM (spark and fuel). Idle air by the ISV. So the answer may be give the ISV to much to do so that it tries to close down completely and stays there (doesn't hunt). Install a leaky vacuum hose. Adjust leak as required. Is your idle too slow?

Fix whats wrong it will idle fine. Idle stabilizer may be stuck, bad. Or there could be mixture issues, like a coolant temp sensor. Check engine light on? Codes?
