Default What type ECU does the car have MMS 300 or MMS 400?

Will the chip be able to work on the MMS 200 also?

Default mods= twin 57 trim, to4e turbos 272 cams, 650cc injectors, 9:1 comp, full intake mods...

150 shot of nitrous, progressive water/alcohol injection...what i need: full ignition control (advance & retard) based on rpm, boost, and knock...

Default You certainly don't want to do this on a Stock EMS.

It could be done, but the system just isn't designed for it, and any changes you make down the road would require software changes. And frankly you'll be making a lot of compromises to keep the stock ECU in the car. If you have to keep it, it's an option. But it's not going to be any cheaper, or much easier.

Makes a lot more sense to go SEM with that kind of setup. Our IIc ECU will run the odd-fire motors without any problems at all, gets you full boost control, and complete control over fuel and ignition mapping with any laptop.

Default According to this post, the MMS200 isn't even the Hitachi ECU...

My memory is a little foggy, but places like JET have already "chipped" certain versions of the 12V ECU, and reading MikTip's post, it would seem to me that the version was most likely the MMS200.

I don't think chipping the MMS200 will prove anything about chipping the "unchippable" MMS400 that is found on 12V A4s. I'm not really sure about the MMS300.

MikTip post on ECU post on 12V ECUs

Default Another piece of info...

This time from JWG. It looks like the MMS200 and MMS300 have both been chipped before. It is the MMS400 series from the A4 that has never been chipped.

Post from JWG
