Default Converters in Exhaust

Over the summer I a 2.5" exhaust system put in, with two high flow cats magnaflow cats to a magnaflow muffler. I was just wondering about why people do the single cat conversion, if there are benefits or just the cost/ease...because if there are significant advantages, i would fix the system. Also, are there any known headers for the 12v A4, if so could you send me in the right direction.

Thanks

2 cats is stock, I think some people (myself included) go 1 high flow cat to save cash.
