as soon as it gets here. I'll use Castrol GTX 20-50 as the carrier and follow all manufacturer's instructions to the letter. I'll do a before/after pic thru the oil filler cap to capture the results. If this stuff does what it says it will and cleans all the brown varnish off the valve train and makes them silver and new looking again it will be nothing short of magic!!

Yay!
In case you need any feedback from the guy who created Auto-RX, his name is Frank and he hangs out and responds to questions at BITOG.

additionally, great company to deal with. They had me a tracking number...
via DHL within 2 hours of order placement. Gave me a few bucks off each bottle and they paid shipping. Maybe the best, fastest and most efficient online buying experience I've ever enjoyed... as well as one of the cheapest. Now if it just works as-advertised.

Yep, the 90. A4 is on front line at Champagne for sale w/6 other A4's
But mine is the only modified one there and its down to suspension/exhaust mods only as I removed all the AA stuff except for forced air. I'm hoping to catch the younger, more sports oriented buyer as all the other A4's are bone-stock. So basically its louder and has Bilstein Sports and AudiSport springs, cross-drilled Zimmerman rotors front/rear and Pagid blue "sport" pads. All less than 4k miles on it. But it still may have to have a new short block put into it as it still uses more oil than it should.

By the way...
Auto RX may result in some temporary clicking and clacking in the engine. Nothing to worry. A good oil choice would be Chevron Delo 400 15W-40, as it's a very good dino oil and is actually A3 rated (at least it says A3 on the new jugs).

I emailed Frank and he said Castrol GTX 20-50 is "good as any other" for the treatment...
I also get it for free from the bulk oil pump at Champagne so the price is comparatively better than any other. Also since the treatment tends to thin the carrier oil the added 50 over 40 viscosity can't hurt especially headed into 100F+ August temps in this neck of the woods.

Thinnest possible oil is recommended. ARX should not affect viscosity...
just to repeat what I was told. 20w-50 is considered an obsolete formula though, it's viscosity improvers quickly shear down directly into sludge. Pennzoil LL 15w-40 is nearly a 50wt and has the latest additive pack and basestocks that makes it shear stable and it passes a myriad of modern specs that 20w-50 would not have a chance at. I know you know your mechanical ****, but I know for sure any and all 15w-40s are a vast improvment over 20w-50. I would not use 20w-50 in my car at all, but my Delvac 15w-40 is a major blessing. It easily replaces high-end synths in smoothness etc, but is cheap plus carries MB and Volvo mfg specs. Check the visc chart in my pic poster. If you must have something that says 50 weight on it, M1 15w-50 is fine or Syntec 5w-50 is what is used at my BOSCH Center. Their regular oil is diesel-rated Castrol RX 15w-40. Generally, the trend is toward lighter oils now, but you guys complain about noise and ticky lifters. I say normal engine sound is ...normal and 20w-50 makes it quieter, but even stickier and sludgier.
