I only asked due to local availability
...5w-40 is hard to find since T&SUV was discontinued. RL sounds perfect, but $$$. I'm running M1 0W-40 now, but it is also hard to find locally.

If you find an AutoZone near you...
they should have Castrol 5W-40 for around $5-$6 a quart.
If you don't have oil consumption issues with M1 0W-40, there is nothing wrong with using that oil.
I'd rather mix the 0W-40 with the 15W-50 than the 5W-30 with the 15W-50. Another oil that is widely available is Castrol 5W-50, and it works well in the 12v. I hope this helps!
