Mr.D, CK NYoC, about those defective mystery water pumps
I've been asking around and someone recognized the logo on the water pump. This is an Italian company called ANNEX, or in this case their German division named Annex-Technik GmbH, which rebuilds or remanufactures water pumps. Looks like they didn't sell you truly new water pumps.

thats wonderful to know, I know not to buy things from that website....
The car always had a high pitched sound with tht pump. Sure it sounded cool at the time, but not when it messed up 10k later.

I don't know
I believe if you buy an alternator from the dealer it's usually remanufactured, too. I don't know about the legality regarding remanufactured parts being sold as new. I'd rather buy a new part.

So did I, perhaps the reason why it was cheaper than other places was because it was remanufactured.
Had I known that I wouldnt have bought it especially because there's so much work involved in changing it.
