No Start, No Codes. No Check Engine Light. CEL
1993 90.
The car is no start. Seems like either no spark or no fuel, because it doesn't even begin to start.
I can't get any codes because the check engine light does not work. Stopped working when this problem came up.
I built a replacement check engine light, called athe "test light method" at 12v.org but also couldn't get the led to flash.
The day before the car failed, the instrument gauge went wacky.
What should I try next?

Where do I check for fuel at, and what about why is there absolutely no CEL
When I say no CEL, I mean nothing illuminates, not that there are no codes.
Where should I check for fuel?

Re: No Start, No Spark, No Codes. No CEL at all. What next?
Yeah, I just looked for a spark, old school way. putting a plug wire extremely near a ground, and not seeing any spark jump. That's consistent with the gauge going wacko, and then disappearing completely. I'm gonna treat this as electrical.
It starting to get dark and cold, but the weekend starts tomorrow, what should I try?

if your sure there is no CEL and its not just burnt out, then it could be your ECU. i know on the
B5 1.8t's, as soon as you put the key in and turn it at all, the CEL (as well as others) turns on.
they say if it doesn't turn on, then the ECU is usually the culprit.
If you are able to, I would see about borrowing someone's ecu and hooking it up to find out if thats the issue.
