2.0T balance shaft failure, @ 300 miles new...
****e happens. While at a dealership today I saw a 2.0t motor on the shop floor which had been removed becouse of a seized balance shaft cam or a failed cam belt. Are there other exampes of this cam failure by listers? Additionally, the tech mentioned a sensitivity in filling the fuel tank.
Seems over filling the fuel tank comes easy and when this happens the charcoal filter will saturate with fuel. The excess fuel makes its way to the ERG at the engine. Go fugure.
Cheers,
MS

well, i think i'm a cam failure candidate. they *still* don't have a clear picture of my troubles, but they said they've replaced the rocker arms and cam to fix the misfire in cylinder 2 which is setting off my CEL which is set off every time i get a tank of gas.
nonetheless, they're talking now about vehicle replacement since it's been so long and they can't zero in on what exactly is happening. this is about the third or fourth story i've hear of this nature.

I'm getting a new camshaft and something else (don't know the name)
Car has been in the shop since Dec 20th. My symptoms were different though. I would accelerate on the highway and then engine power would cut out for a couple of seconds.
