A6 A3 FSI 2.0 (BVY Engine)
Hi Guys,
I'm from Australia, need some help here as I don't know what exactly is going on with my car, it's an A3 3-door FSI 2.0 not turbo, automatic. I've just bought the car secondhand about 2 months ago.
Humming noise with increasing speed - I can feel the slight vibration starting from roughly 60km/h and it gets louder in 70-80kmh speed range, then gets quiet down between 80-100, then it will come back even louder if I drive more than 100. I thought it's the gearbox but it seems 5th / 6th gear its the same, accelerating / off the gas, the same. I've been searching for some comments online and most people said it could be the wheel bearing, but I don't think the humming noise is worse at cornering though..
Also, there were 3 times in these 2 months, one just happened 2 hours earlier, when I decelerate on a highway from 100kmh, there was a big 'explosion/bang' sound, but no warning light came on and the car was still drivable, it pretty much feels like I hit something on the road but it's not..I have an ignition issue too as sometimes it cranks longer to turn over and there were two times that it can't turnover..can they be related anyhow? Backfire? (Got an alcohol interlock and the mechanic says it may be related)..

Also, had some fault codes:
01309 - Power Steering Control Module (J500)
P0522 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch, Circuit Low Voltage
P0520 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch, Circuit Malfunction
I've cleared them and only the power steering control module code came back, nothing else...
12/13% throttle position at idle, 21% at cold start for a minute then drops back to 12/13%, is it supposed to be 0% when the car is idle?
