Default KO4 Kit from APR

I just purchased the KO4 kit, waiting to install, in addition while i was at it i picked up a greddy intercooler. Does anyone have any feedback on the kit with the intercooler. I also have the full apr exhaust, testpipe, Carbonio CAI, snub mounts, power pulley and forge DV (does anyone know if this can be used on the KO4??). I just want to see what you think of the Kit. I was told that the stage 3 from APR would run about 7000 dollars plus the install and will not be out until 2008. I do not want to wait for more power. Anyways any info you can get me would be great. I like to hear what other think. Thanks

they all fit well with the ko4 kit but really i would wait till the stage 3 comes out it gonna put out a lot more power unless you got money to throw around then it all fine. vf is coming out 1 also they all use gt28rs the power out put is so much different
ko4 = 300 to the wheel
gt28rs = 400 to the wheel

Default nope, sorry to say audijc..but

to start things off our motors can only handle 380whp before they blow. the k04 offers crank horsepower with both their kits. the k04 is 300 crank, and the gt is 400 crank. theres a dyno sheet floating around of bt kit doing 317whp with the turbo, big intercooler and intake. the k04 with give you around 270 whp..the bt kit will be released sometime in the middle of next year. the reason for that is because they are testing the kits on the gti's first. which will be released late this year, early next year. awe is supposed to be releasing their kit anytime soon. the guy i spoke with told me its coming out in about a month. but that was 2 mkonths ago..maybe they are waiting for apr to be their competition.

this might be a small tangent but what exactly causes the 2.0TFSI to blow at 400WHP?

Is it detonation because that could conceivably be fixed with a better intercooler.

Default i dont think...

its detonation because ive read our fuel can support over 400whp. i believe its on stock internals before the rods go.

The place i take my car said exactly what Pierranchis said about when they are releaseing the BT kit. The mechanic said he could do the kit now, because he has done many BT kits for the old 1.8 and in some cases he had to make his own kit however the only stumbling block is the new program that he would need from APR or someone who does programming. So as far as that goes if you know someone who can tune chips i have a guy that can build a GT-28-71rs kit. He is in Long Island. Great place.... Eitherway i am getting the KO4 for now. I will eventually have to go to the BT but for now i need more speed. I am tired of just beating cars, i want to be able to do it a little more easily. Plus there is nothing like ripping through the gears...

detonation can always be managed. rods and head bolts likely.
