Leaking Oil.....

Leaking Oil from the from the back of the passenger side engine bank. The photo shows the source. I don't know what it is. Looks like some kind of a seal. If you can make it out in the picture please let me know, and if it can be replaced or fixed without any major engine work. Thanks.

Re: Leaking Oil.....
That doesn't look very severe from the pic, however the chain tensioner gaskets and valve cover gaskets are common leakers. Parts are cheap, labor will probably be 2-3 hours. It's a straightforward job, although positioning one of the c.t. gaskets is kinda tricky.

You think 2-3 hours?
I just had this done under warranty and the dealer gets 12 hours of labor to do the rear seals. Practically the whole engine has to be lowered.
I know any indy that knows a shortcut and its 5-6 hours.. with 10 years experieince.

Dealers love warranty work.
They just did mine too under warranty so I don't know how many hours they banged AoA for. However I had the car back in 1 day so I highly doubt it was 12 hours.
But then again...when I did get it back my turbos mysteriously died, so who knows. Knuckleheads.
