Default TC replacement

Just had to vent...Started taking it apart last night and I can't even get the downpipes off. (I am having piggies done while it is apart). I hope I haven't gotten in over my head. The upper nut on the drivers side down pipe is a pain in the a$$!!. I am beginning to think it would have been worth the 1K to have someone else do it!!

Default Hang in there, downpipes are a bitch.

Hope you have some competent help. I'd hate to think how you would get them off and back without help. Used all the socket extensions I had to turn some of the bolts, crowsfeet. universals, ratcheting boxends, you name it. If you could only through the heat shrouds away. Tell me the Germans don't have a sense of humor.

Default jackstands help, so you can remove the wheels. in fact, a lift is even better.

removing the wheels gets you a lot more access to some of the weird stuff.
flex head ratchets help too.

Default I am taking it to Wicked.

While I think of myself as a decent mechanic, I was in over my head. To do this right, I would need a lift and a good tranny jack. Wicked can do it in a quarter of the time, and I know it will be done right. Thanks for the encouragement, but I know when to quit. I guess I should have waited to drain it!! It cost me $50 to figure out I needed someone else to do it.

If anyone needs the Torque converter done still, I can do it for you. If you are in the So. Cal area. I am A master Audi tech and do side work. I have access to my dealership on saturdays to do heavy line stuff like this.
Just an Idea,
