The bar code is 078 103 235 R, and LOT:PE 185-LS 651133; also written is SCHLAUCH, 1 Steuck (anyone read German). Given that it ma have failed so soon, is there a more reliable part available? This part had a large rip up the seam and at the joint were it met another hose. The whining noise I'm hearing comes from about the same area. The pic below is not of my engine but one I found in the tech articles posted by Robert Gedeon in 2006. And yes, I have searched for the part number and LOT number. TIA- AW

.This hose will not cause a boost leak. It is for venting the crankcase.
