Default What's this part??????

<center><img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w105/firemedic726/audiphoto.jpg"></center><p>I'm trying to figure out what this part is...When I start the motor, it emits a high pitched whine that eventually goes away. Any info on what it is and why it might be doing that? Thanks

what car model are you? S4, A6, etc.? manual or auto?

Default k, that makes more sense. though I've never seen it, I'm going to guess that

screaming noise is your secondary air injection unit.

Default roger that. SAI pump is $400 and 1.5 hours labor in you don't DIY

They can whine like a jet engine for months before they finally give out.
