Cracked My Oil Pan

I cracked my oil pan today. Don't ask me how as I didn't realize the incline on the road. Is there any other things I should work on while I have the pan off? A friend is going to TIG weld it for me.

pickup screen/oil pump would probably be a good idea

how much was the new pan?

Just wondering because my A4 is in the shop for the transmission problems and oil pan right now and they are suppposed to get me quotes for everything today sometime.

I am a machinist and I can actually tig weld also, so I was thinking I would probably just do that, but if it is super cheap to just let them mess with it then I will!

Any idea where we could find out what alloy the aluminum of the pan is made from to match the filler material better?
