Default 4 valve or 5 valve per cylinder
i had believed that the recent (like, since 2002 or so) Audi V6 and V8 engines were five valve per cylinder. but I've seen references on the AUdi web site to four valve heads for the recent V8's. please, don't flame my ignorance. just tell me whether there are both 4 and 5 valve engines, etc...

Default V8 FSI engines are 4-valve...
because they couldnt fit the fsi injector in the head without removing one valve...

thx. that helps immensely. (makes me wonder how Yamaha managed to fit five valves plus a spark plug in the narrower bore of their 4 cylinder literbikes)

smaller valves, smaller injector and smaller spark plug.

Default and audi had to fit 4valves+spark plug+ FSI injector
yamaha only had 5valves and the plug. Smaller valves and smaller plug, correct...
