Default Wheel fitment question.

Purchasing a summer wheel set and trying to figure out fit and rubbing issues. I'm considering a 19" 8.5" wide 35et wheel, and a 19" 9" wide 32et wheel. I'm comfortable with the outside lip poke relative to the fender on the Allroad, but I'm not sure how to figure out potential rub on the strut. It looks like the 8.5" 35et wheel will be 18.9mm closer to the strut and the 9 32et wheel will be 22.1mm closer to the strut.

Should I just crank the wheel hard to either side and measure interior strut clearance on the stock wheels to determine rub potential? It seems like if I'm too close to the strut and use spacers, my outside poke will be significantly less flush with the fender, and I don't want that.

I think you won't come across any rubbing issues. My wheels are 19 x 8.5 et40 and they don't rub the strut. I'm trying to figure out spacers to get them to sit a bit more flush.

You won't have a rubbing issue with either, maybe see the post rpparkster started about his wheel fitment. I have some info on that thread.

Thanks much - wound up going with the 19x9 et32, no rub with about .5” to spare.
