Default 1.8T quattro, is it worth it?

...looking for the 1.8TQ, but want to know about existing problems. EVERY car has problems, i'm just trying to 'pick my poison'.

PROBLEMS I'M AWARE OF:

1)problem with coilpack(my current VR6 has had its share)
2)MAF???
3)tranny problem between 1st & 2nd(still a problem if i want the tiptronic?)
4)hard starting in cold weather
5)high oil consumption
6)coolant leaks

the list could go on, but, i still want my AUDI!!!! is it worth it? help?!?!?!

I just got my A4 about a week ago. I thought the maintenance would be insane, but if you do it yourself and buy the parts online, it isn't bad at all.

Default Well I have a 2000 a4 1.8T

Digital clock **** broke? only goes forward when setting time.

Lcd trip computer now has a black line thru the middle

I have had no coilpacks die on me yet.
Tranny- I have a manual 5 spd, I switched to redline syn. Smoothed up a bit. I also drag race it a lot.

If your rough on the clutch, expect to change it often But that's a given.... abuse it, have to change it.

Chipped at 1k ran it chipped with apr chip for 30k
And 45k with apr's stage 3 kit.

All in all, it seems pretty well built. And expensive to mod, but fun.

Default I've seen that on several different cars...

I hope that doesn't happen on mine, as i'm dreading dropping that much cash on a new cluster. :/

Same here: it's never out when it's at the dealer!

Default Well it is not all that big of a deal, since it is a single row of small lights at a time.

On mine it goes thru part of the warning light up top and one thru the lower part but it is not missing all of the time. Now if the whole thing went out then I would worry about replacing it.

Yeah, it's just one of those little annoyances that would probably really **** me off.
