Default 1.8T vs. 2.8. Audi - check. Quattro - check. 5 speed A4 - check. But which engine should I go with?

Just got my PeopleFirst check for $15K. My POS is finally dead and I am ready to strap myself into some payments. I'd like to go with a 1999+ Quattro A4 with a stick shift. There are some great buys out there to be had for ones just out of factory warranty. Just need to make up my mind as to which configuration to go with, a 1.8T or a 2.8? Opinions? Has anyone out there driven both? Thanks!

That appears to be a really nice car. I bought both my Audis on eBay. It was a breeze.

Default If you want to mod get the Turbo, if you want a comfortable more durable...

..cruiser get the V6. Get a 99.5 + whichever way you go.

Default Thanks, man. eBay rules as long as everyone is careful and takes it one step at a time.

Has anyone had a bad experience with chipping a 1.8T?

Default it has all the interior and exterior upgrades as 00 and 01, but

its still non-dbw. which means you have better throttle response
