Default 1.8T vs 2.8L performance?

I'm looking to buy an A4...just test drove tonight an 2.8L Quattro. What is the performance comparision b/t the 2.8L and the 1.8T?
I was just reading it seems the Quattro models and not as quick as the FWD models. That is surprising.

Thanks,
Mike

Default Google is your friend.

Quattro's drivetrain loss is greater than fwd. Thereby fwd is slightly faster.

Default if you live in a place where it never snows and gets little rain get a FWD

if you plan on modding your engine 1.8's are more friendly because they have a turbo.

2.8s have a super charger you can buy but its a lot of money

I'm in Atlanta, no snow..but we do have rain but I wouldn't say a ton....or at least I don't get caught in a ton of it!

It makes sense.
I've had a few AWD Turbo Talons in the past and I always thought those were faster then the fwd cars...maybe I was wrong!
