What are the differences between the '99 and '00 models? Are Xenon headlamps availible on '99 models?

Does anyone recommend the purchase of a certified pre-owned A4?

No Xenon available on 99 models, however, I believe you can get aftermarket (for a high $$)xenon lights.
Other changes for 00 include drive by wire accelerator, single CD in dash is standard, sport wheels are different, among other minor things.
Why not get a MY '00?
I have seen that the A4s that are @1 year old are almost as much as the new ones. Of course, if you are strapped finanacially, that extra few thousand dollars may be pushing over your limit. If you are in the position, I would possibly wait an extra few months to save up more money and get the new A4. New warranty and you'll get what you want. That's my opinion.

I read in EVO that the 2000 have alot of structual changes to the front sub frame where all the suspension pieces connect to. supposed to be much beefier and better balanced steering.

It's the issue where they compared it to a mondeo, accord type-r, and some other euro pnly sedans.

The '99 model year was the first in which North American spec models received a "full size" passenger-side rear-view mirror, versus the asymetric setup used since'96.
