Default 2000 1.8t coil pack replacement part -- vw equiv?

Just started getting misfires with associated vag code that cylinder 3 was the culprit. Switched coilpacks between cyl 2 and 3 and the code moved with the pack.

I don't have a dealer in my area and I understand I really shouldn't drive the car until the coil's replaced as it can go out completely leaving me stranded. Can anyone confirm if there is a vw coil pack I can use as a straight swap without problem? There's a vw dealer around here, so if I can get a vw part it will save me the wait time of going through clair's or some other online shop.

Default Identical parts.

Audi and VW use the exact same coil packs.

Default Yes, exactly.

Plus the VW dealer charges much less for the exact same part compared to an Audi dealer.

Default Walk in and tell em you want some 1.8T "L" Coils.

They are the latest, and least failure prone.

Default Oh, you have Hitachi 1.8T coils. Walk in and ask for them....

The hitachi coils can not be replaced by the newer style push in coils. The connector is different...

Some 2000 cars have the hitachis, some have the new styles...you must have an early production car for that.

Default "E" Version is what you want. Don't spend more than $100 ($89.95 + ship)

Just replaced my coilpacks this week. Got a set of 4 from www.ecstuning.com.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&amp;engine=1.8T&amp;mod el=B5%20A4&amp;submodel=Quattro&amp;category=Engin e">ECS Tuning maintenance parts</a></li></ul>
