They have a picture of the 2001 A4 in the new Car & Driver. It's hard to tell all the changes but the back end is supposed be more like the A6.

Note that the text suggests that they "fabricated" the image to match verbal descriptions - not an accurate photo. You can tell that the greenhouse is straight from the current model (i.e. they modified a photo of a current model).

Look closely, the pic doesn't have seems around the hood. Maybe the front opens a-la 'Vette? ;-)
