Default '97 1.8T vs. '99 2.8 Suspension

Anyone know if the non-sport shocks and springs for a '99 2.8 Quattro will fit on a '97 1.8T Non-quattro?

I'm trying to sell to a fellow AW'er.

Thanks.

Default NO.....all wrong......

first of all, quattro suspension doesn't fir non-quattro, and vise versa

secondly, 1.8's and 2.8's use different spring rates, because the 2.8 is heavier.

Default How bout just the rear shocks?

the guy who's interested just wants the rears.

Will that fit?

Or is the quattro/non-quattro not compatible with the shocks too?

Thanks.

Default Exhaust

Hey I'm doing an intake like yours. I should be getting it delivered to my job in a few hours and I'm putting it on today. Can't wait! I just put on a used Stebro cat-back. So far I'm loving it. Already a performance increase with just the exhaust. GIAC chip will come very soon.

I'm following your footsteps. Nice to know there's another 2.8er doing stuff.

I just wanted to know if you like your Brullen. I was debating on getting a used Brullen or the Stebro that I went with. I like the tips on the Brullen more but I've heard other reviews that it was too loud. The Stebro has a deep, mellow growl that you can only hear in the lower rpm-s when you punch it.

Default Brullen rules....read my review (click the link under my sig).....

are you gonna be performing additional heatshielding to the intake (see my "heat shield mod" link). I highly recommend this. The Lltek heatshield doesn't work all that well.

I think I'm going to make another round of these. I sold some a while back, and there seems to be further interest.

Default Heatshield

Yeah I read your Brullen review already. I guess I was looking for further affirmation that I made the right decision. Oh well.

As for the heat shield, I'll see as soon as I put it on. I also read your post on that too. I don't know when you bought yours, but it appears that the shield in your pics is smaller than the one they offer now, which they claim they have made larger and thicker. If it's not adequate, I'm definitely doing what you did.

Are you selling the insulating wrap? How much?

I looked on-line to see how much and it's like $100 for 14 square feet or something. Definitely won't be doing it if it's that much.

Default I've been selling the kits pre-cut and ready to install for $65.....

even with the improved heatshield, it'll still be a problem. Nothing protecting the cone from above. And remember that steel conducts heat.

Don't worry too much about it. It won't damage your car. Just improve it eventually.

email me if you're interested
