A4 Airbag Light
Bought my 2000 A4 1.8TQ with sport & Conv. on Sat. on Monday the Airbag Indicator light does not go off while driving. Any similar problems. Fairly annoying to take the car in three days after I picked it up. Sorry if this has been asked before as I am new here and just finding my way around. Wonderful info though.

Re: A4 Airbag Light
Mine came on at about10K miles; one start it was not there, and another it was.
I drove it that way until the tie rod recall (about 15K) and had the dealer check the air bag when the tie rod job was done.
VAG diagnostic tool results: a "fault" in the computer but with "inconclusive" data as to the cause; dealer reset the fault; light went off, and is still off 4k miles later.
If you call ahead, it should be a really quick in-out if it's only one of these mystery faults...if it's a more serious problem you want to know anyway.
My tech told me that the airbags are disabled when the warning light is on, so that might be some incentive for you to get it taken care of.

Re: A4 Airbag Light
Thanks for the reply! Since it is my wifes car I made her take it in to start establishing a track record with the service department. She told me the service guy said theret was a fault in the Drivers side airgbag. Guess what? no parts so she has to make a second trip out there. I told her to scream at our salesman since we have not sent in our dealer survey yet as we have only had the car for 4 days now. We shall see what happens. Not a good start though.
