Default ABS indicator light on and blinking BRAKE indicator

I just bought an 98 A4 2.8 from a Lexus dealer. I noticed that the ABS indicator light is staying on and the Brake indicator is blinking. The Lexus dealer did an inspection and said that that the brakes are fine and that the indicators just need to be reset.

How can I reset the indicators?

Default Is this car under a warranty?

Start by checking codes with VAG-COM, but you're probably going to find that the ABS module is toast.

Unfortunately, it is not. I am new to this. How do I check the codes with VAG-COM

Default Your Lexus dealer knows nothing about Audis

Ask nicely for someone on this list to scan your car.

http://www.steve-hall.com/cgi-bin/VAG-Locator.pl</a

Default The physical brakes are probably 100% fine. ABS malfunctions are purely electric...

the brakes will still work, but the ABS will not.

Thanks. Any other suggestions or checks I can do myself before I get it scanned or checked?

Default I would argue that ABS not working does not equate to "the brakes are fine".

Especially from a legal liability standpoint.

Default I would agree. My point was, the car will stop, the brakes will function.

not that all is 100% fine.
