AC Problems - Help

Looks like the ac clutch is out
With the engine running and the ac on (snow flake on) look at the front of the ac compressor under the hood. You will most likely see the front portion that sticks out further than the pulley is not turning just the pulley that is in contact with the serpentine belt. There should be a green wire that comes off the compressor. With the engine off disconnect this wire at the connector. The connector is under the power steering reservoir cover remove it first (pulling it up will remove the cover). With engine running connect this green wire to 12volts from the battery (be careful that you don't short anything else) and see if the front part of the ac pulley starts turning. If it doesnt turn your ac clutch is shot. If it turns then see if the ac is blowing cold air. If shorting the clutch turns it than its a elecrical problem like relay or climate control. My ac clutch went out all of a sudden just as you described. My ac clutch coil has high resistance about 1 Mohms, should be sbout 3-5 ohms with a ohm meter.

I have Audi A4 1995 1.8l and my coolant fan for AC i working all the time when ignition is on! I think that the problem is in the "coolant fan control thermoswitch" it is stuck but i can't find it in the car!! if somebody know where is it please tell me or tell me some internet page with component location for audi A4. Thanck
