AC Problem, please help diagnose
I have a weird AC problem. It seems related to my thermometer (between the tach and speedometer). It shows that the outside temperature is negative 59 degrees. My AC just blows Hot air. Then as the temperature rises closer to 0 degrees, I can hear the compressor kick in, and then I get really cold air come from the AC. It stays cold for a bit..then I notice the temperature start dropping in the negative numbers again, and the AC just blows hot air again. Please any guesses would be appreciated.

You have a bad ambient air temp sensor. There are two of them...........
One is in front of the radiator (coming off of the power steering cooler loop)....
The other is under the pollen filter.
Figure out which one is bad (using a VAG) and replace - it will fix your problem.
The car will not allow the A/C compressor to kick in when it is below (or thinks it is below) a certain outside temp.
